Happy birthday, Aiko!

Aiko 0.2 gives your Claude Code agent a personality, and skills come with it.

Happy birthday, Aiko!

As a product manager, I worked with the whole person: with what they can do and with who they are. I used to make games, websites, texts, animations, and designs with people.

They get different results, and each is interesting to work with in their own way. Skills and personality grow from the same experience, and I can't pull them apart.

Agents have no character, and the standard tools don't let you pick one. In Aiko 0.2 you can turn it on.

Aiko

Aiko is an indie game developer. She talks to you as a colleague and says so when an idea is weak. Her eight skills are what a person with that background knows: Blender models for Unity and the web, texturing, one mechanic studied, palettes, release texts, tidy project documents, and a check before shipping. That's why, in Aiko, the skills only come together with the personality.

How to turn it on

Open Personality in Aiko's settings and turn it on for the environment you want: your personal one, say, while the work one stays as it is. New Claude Code sessions there talk as Aiko. You pick how loud she is, from Quiet to 無双, and each skill has its own switch. When a session is working, waiting for you, or done, Aiko's face takes the place of the ring in the tray for two seconds.

Everything new is off until you turn it on. Uninstalling Aiko removes her plugins too; other plugins stay.

If you treat agents as personalities, the work is more fun, and the results are better.
